My Experience Using the Enneagram
My Name is Ian Morgan Cron.
I’m an author, speaker, therapist, and podcast host. My book, The Road Back to You, is an introduction to using the Enneagram and I facilitate Enneagram workshops all over the world. For the last few years I've hosted a podcast specifically about the Enneagram called Typology.

I love learning about the Enneagram. And I love helping people use it to live more intentional, authentic and productive lives. In fact, that’s why I’m writing to you now.

Years ago, I started my Enneagram journey with a very simple assessment.

And now, I have one I want to share with you.
How to Get Your iEQ9 Report
If you want to take the iEQ9 assessment and get the individualized Enneagram Report that comes with it,
here’s what to do:

Click the button below and purchase either the Standard or Pro version of the iEQ9.
Remember, with the Standard version, you get a 20-page report that includes:
  • Core Enneagram Type
  •  27 Subtypes
  •  Centers of Expression (Centers of Intelligence)
  •  Wing Influence
  •  Self-Awareness and Integration
  •  Strain Levels
  •  Lines of Tension and Release (Stress and Security)

And with the Pro version, you get a 41-page report that includes everything in the Standard version, PLUS:
  • Communication
  •  Giving and Receiving Feedback
  •  Feedback Guide for All Types
  •  Conflict and Triggers
  •  Decision Making
  •  Leadership and Management
  •  Team Behavior
  •  Coaching Relationship Tendencies
  •  BONUS Development Exercise Box
Then, go through the 175-question assessment. This will take you about 20-45 minutes.

After completing the assessment, your comprehensive report will be automatically sent
to your email address.

I took the assessment and felt uneasy about the process as I worked my way through the 175 questions. I was pleasantly surprised when it was spot on including my subtype which I had only concluded recently after listening to Ian'sTypology Podcast for a month. I am looking forward to working through the wealth of information that came with the report. Feeling hopeful.

I’ve thought about the question "Who am I really?" a lot.

Though I’ve made meaningful progress toward answering it, I don’t have it all figured out yet.

But around 20 years ago, I came upon the Enneagram and have found it to be a highly effecting tool to self-awareness and self-discovery.

And since I've studied it for years, a lot of people ask me to help them answer this question for themselves.

And while this work has been meaningful...

It’s been challenging, for two reasons.
Human beings are not transparent to themselves.

The idea that “we can’t see the forest for the trees” is particularly true when it comes to understanding ourselves.

It's difficult to look inside ourselves and identify and understand our motivations, desires, and fears.
In theory, getting to know ourselves sounds great. In reality... it's a bit more complicated than that.

When we turn our gaze inward, even though we discover wonderful things about who we are, we also become aware of some things that aren't so wonderful.

Then when those uncomfortable truths emerge, it's not unusual for our unconscious mind to get "scared" and steer us away from looking at those things that, in fact, may be useful for us to know.
In short, discovering the truth to who we are is rewarding work
but...it can also be difficult and unsettling.

Doing the "work" is good but not easy.
We Need a Tool
Over the years, I’ve used many different Enneagram tools.

I'm always looking for the best resources to help develop self-knowledge towards the goal of becoming a more compassionate person and living a fuller life.

And now, I want to share with you one of the simplest, most effective ways to help attain greater self-awareness and start living a more fulfilling life through the Enneagram.

I’ll explain more in a second, but first, let me tell you a little about myself.

The Truth About Enneagram Reports
No self-reporting test is 100% reliable, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't take one.

All self-report tests — whether it's the Myers-Briggs, Strength Finders, DISC, Kolbe or even a reputable Enneagram test — have margins of error and varying levels of reliability.
The Only Enneagram
Report I Fully Trust
The iEQ9 is an Enneagram report that provides the most comprehensive and detailed report on the Enneagram I’ve seen anywhere. And as an avid student of the Enneagram, I don’t say that lightly.

That means that, even if you already know your type, the iEQ9 can give you a much greater depth of self-knowledge.

In my estimation, the iEQ9 is the most reliable Enneagram test available today. And, as far as I know, there’s no other report that gives you this much information and insight about your type all in one place.

Enneagram Three's are the greatest number that anyone could possibly be. They are the coolest and the most humble.

Why I Believe The iEQ9 Is The Most Comprehensive Enneagram Report Available Today
The iEQ9 is a 175-question assessment, eight years in the making.

It’s a quantitatively researched assessment that uses advanced algorithms and predictive analysis to produce an exceptionally reliable Enneagram Report and Profile for individuals or teams.

As I mentioned, all self-report assessments have varying degrees of reliability…

But the level of research and testing used to design and refine the iEQ9 make it, in my estimation, the most reliable Enneagram report you can get.
The iEQ9 does more than just tell you your Enneagram Type…
It provides an exhaustive report with in-depth information designed specifically for you and your Enneagram type.
So instead of piecing together insights about your type from multiple sources —

You have them compiled just for you, in one place.

Not only does this comprehensive report contain key details and insights about your type, it also gives you practical steps to help you in your journey toward greater self-knowledge and transformation.

Ian Morgan Cron introduced me, and my wife Gail, to the Enneagram. Because it was so helpful to us, we introduced it to our team. It's been a game-changer. The iEQ9 test has been the best Enneagram report we've used to help us to be more effective in both our personal lives and our business.

The iEQ9 Report includes...
Core Enneagram Type
Identifying your core Enneagram Type.
This section reveals:

• Your unique pattern of thinking, feeling, and action patterns
• Your blind spots
• Your worldview
• Your core fear
• Your gifts
• Your challenges

This section alone is extremely valuable, but it's just a fraction of the total report.

27 Subtypes & Instincts
There Are 9 Enneagram Types. Each Type Has 3 "Subtypes."
Your core Enneagram Type is just the tip of the iceberg of your personality. Each of the 9 Enneagram types has three "subtypes" so there are 27 subtypes — and knowing your particular subtype can be extremely helpful.

In fact, for me, learning my subtype was a game changer.

If you're unfamiliar with subtypes, here's a quick explanation:

Every human being has three instinctual drives: Self-Preservation, Social relationships in groups, and One-to-One bonding. One of these instincts matters more to us than the other two. When our primary instinct blends with our core Enneagram Type it creates a "subtype" that powerfully influences how we express our personality.

Understanding the subtle nuances of your subtype can make a world of difference for you.

The iEQ9 report identifies your subtype and describes how it affects the way you see and relate to the world (and remember, it's all customized for you).
Centers of Expression
There are 3 Centers of Expression (also called Centers of Intelligence)
• Thinking
• Feeling
• Action

This section helps you understand your dominant Center and how you use it to express yourself.

It even tells you how others are likely to experience you — both at your best and at your worst.

Wing Influence
Your "wings" are the Enneagram numbers on each side of your main Enneagram type. You typically access both of your wings but one is more dominant for most people.

This section details how each wing can influence your personality and behavior.

Self-Awareness and Integration
This section reveals your level of integration, indicating the degree to which you're living on 'autopilot' or in a state of self-awareness.
Strain Levels (Also Referred to as Stress Levels)
The details in this section help you determine how much stress you’re experiencing in the following 5 areas.

Interpersonal Strain - The level of stress in your relationships
Environmental Strain - The level of stress caused by your surroundings
Psychological Strain - Your current level of "mental health" stress
Physical Strain - A measure of your physical health
Vocational Strain - The level of stress you feel about your work

This section also provides feedback on your current happiness level. (A variable that's often hard to determine.)

Lines of Tension and Release (Also Called Stress and Security)
This section tells you your specific tendencies to watch out for when you’re stressed.
That way, you can catch unhealthy impulses before they turn into big problems.

Communication
Your Unique Communication Style
Simply stated, relationships are all about communication. This section includes your:

• Listening Behaviors
• Verbal Communication
• Non-Verbal Communication (body language)
• Written Communication

It also includes your Meta-Message.

Your Meta-Message is the underlying message you may be communicating to others, potentially without even being aware of it.

This message is generally not directly stated but people can pick up on it from your tone, content, and the intention of your message.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the assessment work?
After your purchase, you’ll receive an email with a link to take the assessment. Then you’ll answer a
series of 175 questions in about 20 - 45 minutes. When you’re finished, just submit your questionnaire and you’ll get an email back with a PDF of your customized profile report. (Many people like to print it out so they can mark it up and refer to the report often.)
Why should I take this assessment if I already know my type?
The iEQ9 is for anyone who wants to use the Enneagram to know themselves better, whether you’re brand new to the Enneagram or have been studying it for quite some time. (I’ve been studying the Enneagram for years and I gained some very useful insights the first time I took it.)

Actually, after taking the assessment, some people realize they had previously mistyped themselves -- and often discover the reason why.

And if you don’t know your Type, that’s okay. The iEQ9 is an extremely accurate tool that will help you discover your Type and more importantly, help you understand why you do the things you do with amazing accuracy.

How is this report better than other Enneagram reports?
Since its release in 2010, over 100,000 people have taken the iEQ9 and it’s been updated 20 times. The developers are routinely contracting with outside experts to analyze the data and then apply those findings to assure the most up-to-date accuracy.

(I’ve found the commitment on the part of the iEQ9’s developers to be both impressive and reassuring.)

What happened to your free assessment?
While my free assessment was a great way to learn what Enneagram type you are, it only scratched the surface.

I wanted to provide a more exhaustive report that would give you not only the knowledge, but also actionable insight that allows you to integrate the Enneagram into your life.
How can I be sure the iEQ9 will give me accurate results?
Again, while no personality assessment is 100% perfect, the iEQ9 is a quantitatively researched assessment that uses advanced algorithms and predictive analysis to produce a highly reliable Enneagram profile for individuals or teams.

The level of research and testing used to design and refine the iEQ9 make it, in my estimation, the most reliable Enneagram Report on the market.
Will the iEQ9 tell me what my dominant Wing is?
It does not, simply because most people shift wings depending on phases of their lives. Instead, in the iEQ9 Report we show the behavioral influence both wings could have on a person. It is also very healthy to consciously develop both wings.

We noticed that the real rich explanation for the difference some people have inside the same type is explained by the 27 Subtypes (when the biological dominant instinct merges with the passion of the Core Type), which you will see reflected in the iEQ9 Report.
What tips do you have for actually taking the Assessment? What can I do to set myself up to get an accurate result?
In order to maximize your Assessment-taking experience, we encourage you to set a time and place aside where you can take the iEQ9 uninterrupted on a day when you are feeling like yourself. Then, take a deep breath and answer the questions to the best of your ability! Try not to be too swayed by your temporal circumstances; answer as to what is generally most true of you.
If I don’t like it, can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, we can’t issue refunds for the report, because the report is automatically delivered upon completion and there’s no way for you to return it.
How long will it take to get my report?
It will take about 20 - 45 minutes to go through your assessment.

5 - 10 minutes after completing the assessment, your report will be automatically delivered via email.

Do you have any bulk pricing for teams?
We do! If you’d like to hear more, please sign up here to learn more!
Tough questions but after trying to dig into the Enneagram for 1.5 years and feeling like I’d reached a plateau, the iEQ9 provided really keen and perspicacious insight. Very thankful!
